Melodie's Story
Just when I thought my life would be winding down, it seems to be taking off like a rocket. For all the wild ride my life has been I never would have dreamed I would be am where I am now.
Happy???? VERY
Wealthy??? NOT EVEN CLOSE.
I was a high school hippy then, and still end up a hippy at heart. The years have seen many career hats for me. I changed careers just 3 years ago and LOVE what I do. I am primarily an EQUINE (horse) graphic designer and photographer. It takes me many places and I meet new friends from coast to coast. I am very good at what I do and I love to learn more all the
time. My sis and I do a national horse magazine as well.
Living in Texas is fantastic with clean air, starry skies and open spaces, but I miss the ocean and get there as much as time permits....which is almost never.
I have lived in Oregon, Arkansas, Missouri, Utah, Louisiana and Texas since High School. In '95 I finally convinced my husband to move to Texas and now we have 80+ acres of HEAVEN. I have raised and shown National quality cats and World Champion Paint and Quarter Horses. We currently are down from 60 broodmares to only 6. We also have a young stallion that we might keep and use next year. He is white and registered both as a Paint and Quarter horse. I used to manage, train or handle stallions for many years. Hope that having one again isn't a mistake.
I have also been an aircraft mechanic and an insurance agent just to name a few things that I have done.
We have a blended family of 9 kids and a gozillion grand kids. 2 of our kids live here nearby and the other 7 live in Utah or Washington.
I practically LIVE on my computer doing design when I'm not laying in some field snapping photos of stallions or foals.
At home I raise horses and chickens and organic fruit a...Expand for more
nd veggies. We will have 300 free range egg layers this Fall and will average 50-100 free range fryers as well for those wanting pure, untainted organic chicken. I tastes sooo different and better, not to mention more filling and satisfying. I average 4 hours a day when I am home tending the garden.
My husband and I enjoy nature, music, going to church and movies (not horror or R rated tho) whenever I am able to be home for more than a day or two. I love to learn new things and am always looking things up on google to learn more and see if I need to dig deeper into a subject.
I absolutely love to visit tropical regions of the world. The jungles of Belize or discovering the diverse sealife in the warm Carribbean waters are my favorites. I would live there, but my husband wont move there.
I want to see Peru and Equador's ruins one day, and then finish up the requirements for my Pilots license while I still can see. I plan on seeing Australia if I am chosen to photograph their National Horse show this year or next.
My little sister is my best friend and we try and take at least one trip abroad together a year to see and photograph something new. We both have the same occupation. She just moved to Kentucky from Utah, to see if she liked it.
I don't really have a favorite kind of music but I really cant tolerate Rap or Death Metal. I just can't consider it as a form of music. It is just offensive to me. I love Jazz, Classical, Alternative, Religious, Rock, Country, Folk, South American, etc. Give me Enya, Fray, Linkin Park, Hendrix, Morrison, LOVE, Groban, Buble' Dion, Strait, Boccelli, Mormon Tabernacle Choir.... I love so much of it and love to play piano, guitar, etc. Just never time any more.
You never know what tomorrow will bring, so be prepared for it today.
