Melody's Story
Life
We sold our home in Phoenixville PA in Aug 2021 and moved into an apartment in King of Prussia PA, downsizing to ready ourselves for the inevitable decision to retire. After deciding to pursue a PhD in May 2019 he was promoted to Vice President, Defense & Space Security Mission Solutions, a very challenging job that required a lot of international travel. He just finished his PhD May 2023, while still working for and has finally decided it’s time. So I am readying our retirement golf villa in Viera FL so he can retire sometime in the very near future.
Ev, retired as a Major General with 33 years of service in the USAF October 2013 and after just 1 year of retirement decided to go back to work, this time as a civilian. He accepted a position as the Director, Air Force Strategic Programs, Lockheed Martin Space Systems in King of Prussia, PA.

22 times. We have lived in Missouri, DC three times, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Colorado, Florida three times, Rhode Island, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania.
We have three grown children (all married), seven grand children and one great grandchild. All three children reside in Florida. So retirement means more family time. We are healthy, contented, happy, and enjoying life.
Workplace
I worked my way up to a GS-10, Housing Project Manager position before resigning after 22 years civil service to become a stay at home wife and Mom. The most important accomplishments of my civil service career were; Tiger Team member that developed the first Air Force wide computer program for Civil Engineering Squadrons, Housing Officer of the Year, Small Base Category for Strategic Air Command, and Runner-up Housing Officer of the Year, Small Base Category, United States Air Force.
