Join me I'm on there most everyday. ky-rebel @ Yahoo .com I'm also on Face Book under I attended Ahrens trade High school and Ahrens trade High School Alumni 24 Oct 2015 . Bowled in the Georgia Senior State Tournament. I rolled my 1st 800 series. It was 801. I was using the AMF Decimate ball. It is awesome. Oh yes. People say they remember me but never say how... Is that good or bad??? Inquiring minds want to know LOL. I was a hero back in 2007 when I finally returned a ring to it'™s owner after he lost it 27 years ago. I found it in 1980 with my metal detector. (no internet in those days) Checking my finds one day noticed a name on the inside of the ring. Found him on the internet and mailed it to him. I became a hero again today. After looking at a set of houses going to be torn down for commercial usage for a month, I stopped at one of the houses with a big yard. The previous owner was driving by and we had a quick chat. I asked him if I could detect the yard before everything was covered in concrete. He said yea but the previous owner had lost a ring and he thinks it was at this house or another location. I told him if I found it I would call him. He said ok I could detect the front yard. 10 mins in to the search I found the ring. I called him and he came back. He said I can'™t believe you found that ring. He said he knows the guy who lost it will be a happy camper. I had not used my detector since March 2014 and just decided to use it at this location. Had to be fate because the owner hasn't been in the house for a couple months. Oh yea, the ring was a 1959 High school ring. The same school My daughter graduated from. You can follow me on facebook under Melvin Ford. (Melvin Dejae Ford is my son) This past Monday my bowling team won 1st place. this was our 2nd year together. Now I've been on 1st place teams on Monday, Tuesday, Weds, and Friday. Became a Hero once again. A friend of mine's brother in law lost his wedding band 17 years ago. He and his brother searched a couple times for it but never found it. They took me out there and within an hour I fo...Expand for more
und the ring with my metal detector. Mar 26 2017. I am the Georgia State Super Senior Bowling Champion and I'm from Louisville , Ky. LOL 18 Sep 2017 I bowled my 3rd sanctioned 300 game. 24 Jan 2018 I bowled my 4th sanctioned 300 game. I'm on a hot streak it seems. Well I bowled beyond my expectations again. Last year I was the Georgia State Super senior ( over 60) bowling champ. This past season I bowled 2 300 games. One in Sep17 and the other 24 Jan 18. Now I am runner up in the Buddy Hart 26th Annual 250 Masters singles tournament. I bowled 15 games in 2 days. I had series of 741,660 for 1401 on Saturday. I was second. Sunday morning I bowled 716 in another set. That made me point leader. I bowled 4 head to head matches. I bowled 226,248,236 and 209 winning all 4 matches. Then the wall fell down. I had to beat the last guy one game out of 2. 1st game he killed me. (236-164) The last game was a heartbreaker. He won 194 to 191. All in All I exceeded the last time I bowled good there. Last time I finished 12th and lost both 1st and 2nd matches. ( Double elimination) Oct - Nov 2018. Newnan Ga, James Willis and I bowled in the Georgia USBC Senior singles and doubles. We have bowled it together for about 4 years. A few years ago I got my 1st 800 series bowling in that tournament with him. Well, this year we finally got in sync. In singles I had 652 and James had 650. Then in the doubles I had 738 and James had 704. We had 1501 with handicap. We beat all 142 teams from ages 50 - over 75. We were in the 64-69 age group. So we were the Georgia State Class B (64-69) Champions for 2018. My second hobby is Metal detecting. I got a new metal detector In Aug 2018. In Sep 2018 I found my 1st gold high school ring with it. It was from Spring Valley High school in Columbia SC. After a few months searching I found the owner (Nov 2018) . He had lost it 42 years ago and was living in Florida. I returned the ring. He was very happy. Well, Feb 2019 I injured my L3 vertebrae . Now I have L3,L4 and L5 injured. This one has caused me to stop bowling. On top of that, the Month of March I got a persistent cough. I was diagnosed with chronic Bronchitis in December. Then the virus hit. So I haven't bowled in over 17 months and I miss it terribly. But still scraping by. I appreciate all the visits from Alumni. Well here is is 2020. Year started off ok. Then disaster 8 Oct 2020. I have my 1st major auto accident. Totaled my car. But I just had bruises on my arm and sternum. Then 1 Nov I got a 6 day virus. I was even tested to corona virus and was negative. The the big blow. 9 Nov I had my second heart attack. They put in 2 stents. It was scary. Remember I'm on Facebook and in the room Ahrens Trade High school Alumni and I attend Ahrens Trade high school.. come and joins us. My wife and I got both Covid shots. It was the Moderna vaccine. We just had sore arms and I had a redness around the injection site. Nothing serious. I want to say thanks to the people who gave prayers and well wishes to me or my wife. She endured 10 days of not knowing what I was going thru. For those of you who don't know on 12 Apr My wife got a phone call about 9 AM. It was my heart doctor. (I had been wearing a heart monitor over the weekend) He sad tell Mel to report to the ER. They are waiting for him. Well, we got ready and went to the ER. They put me on their heart monitor and it was determined I had an irregular heart beat. My doc said send him to Savannah to the heart hospital. I arrived at 5 PM. My wife doesn't drive and we have few friends being army retirees. Finally Tuesday late about 4 PM the cardiac doctor ordered a Cardiac cath. That was done. No blockages. Wednesday late 3 PM they decide to do a pacemaker/ defibulator. During the process an incision was made a little bit too deep and entered my chest cavity and collapsed my right lung. I was back in my room by 2:30 PM. I was complaining of pain and hard to breathe. That's when they realized I had a collapsed lung. It took about an hour to fix that. So from Saturday to Tuesday I basically was in recovery. Finally on Wednesday at 4:45 PM I was released to home. Another Hospital visit. I was having pain in my lower leg between my knee and ankle. They had to run a catheter through my artery. They inserted it near my lower right abdomen. They found 2 blockages and inserted 2 stents. Boy am I sore. But the artery is now open. I got back to bowling Oct 2021. I'm still trying to get back to my 226 average. Our team finished 3rd. I managed a 200 average. Not bad after a 2.5 year layoff. Thank you for viewing!!!! New update. Well things went downhill quick. 10 Oct I was admitted to the hospital once again. This time it was discovered my Gall Bladder was going bad. 14 Oct they took it out. Fortunately they used the robotic method. Just 4 slots across the abdomen. It will still be 3 weeks before I can bowl again. Back to bowling again. Things are better than last season. Monday morning seniors I have a 207 average now and Weds night I have 212. Still improving. Started Weds night summer league 2 May. 16 May had another set back. Vascular Doc called. I had to go back in for an another cleaning and enlarging of the arteries in my left leg. Another week bowling on hold. But at least they caught it. Dec 2023 was a bad month. 6 Dec I got pneumonia. With COPD I have, it wasn't fun. 22 Dec I was notified my son had died. He was 54. He had a heart attack caused by an enlarged heart. No one knew. The mucus is still controlling my lungs. It's not easy to get rid of. Bad luck continued. After the bout with pneumonia I got bronchitis. Took about a week and a half to get rid of. Then Mar 6 I came down with Covid. Seems My wife went to physical therapy and got it and brought it home. People there had a patient that had it and they knew but didn't clean the equipment like they were supposed to. Another 10 days of headaches, congestion , sore throat and chest pressure. But 11 Feb this year I turned 75. So doing good in that area.
