Melvin's Story
Life
Presently I am 56 and married to a wonderful woman. Her name is Jacqueline. Our household totals 6. My greatest accomplishment is being blessed to have a wife who truly is a gift from God. In 1994, my sister Sharon was told she had only 6 to 12 months to live. She had Cervical Cancer. Sharon also had 8 kids. In 1995 Sharon passed leaving all 8 kids. The state of Alabama advised my wife and I that the kids would be placed in foster homes. Jacqueline was not going to let this happen. happen. Today we have 8 that have finnished high school and 4 have gone to college. It has been veeeeeeeery trying yet we have enjoyed watching the kids grow. I am employed with Masland Carpets in Atmore as a Finishing Baler and Jacqueline is a Pic Clerk for Z-Tel Communications in Atmore and Wal - Mart in Bay Minett. We still attend Gaines Chaple A.M.E.
