Life
Hey there fellow Vikings!!!! Wow, has it really been 20 years? I can hardly believe it myself. I have had a wonderful and fullfilling life in the last 20 years.
I met and married my loving husband, Tom. We have traveled to many different places in our 18 years. We moved from Louisiana to Kansas to Arkansas and have decided to stay here in Mickey Mouse country, Florida. Tom's family is from Florida and so it makes for WONDERFUL holidays. I do not get home much anymore but my heart still belongs to Louisiana.
I have 4 children. 3 boys and 1 surrogate daughter that resides in Kansas with her family. I homeschool my boys by day and work in a local hospital by night. The boys keep me very busy running between drum lessons, bowling, archery, skateboarding and baseball fields. With 2 in lessons and all 3 in baseball, archery and bowling, that keeps our SUV filling up the tank every 4 days. Wow.....and gas prices are not fun right now. But, in the end the boys are so happy and that is what keeps the mommy heart a beating.
We live on a lake that keeps the boys fishing on almost a daily basis. We have an assortment of fish so we never catch two in a row that are the same. I have finally learned how to bait my own hook with a worm, although, I do not do this often. I like the fake ba...Expand for more
its. I am not keen on the dirty hands and killing the poor worms. Of course, we catch and release everything. With nature loving boys I have to make frequent stops to help the turtles cross the road and my oldest has a snake catching business. He is called at all hours of the night to remove any snake seen. He really knows those snakes. Between his snake catching, lawn service and dog sitting duties he keeps his cash flow very lucrative. Yep, no allowance needed here.
My husband has just retired so we are remodeling our home. The price of real estate in Florida is HUGE. We would like to sell in the next year and build but finding any acreage over 1/8 of an acre is very hard here. You just have no land at all with your houses. I miss that too. I do not like my neighbors saying Bless you when I sneeze from next door. Just too close for comfort, if you know what I mean.
I have my own catering company and that keeps us busy in between everything else we do. I love to cook and my specialty seems to be my desserts and the presentation. The nurses keep me pretty busy when I am not working.
