Meridee's Story
Life
I am married . Les and I met when I was 20 (50 years ago) and have been married since 1974. He has 3 children . I have 1 son, Andre' . We have 3 granddaughters from my (step) daughter and my son had his first son in March of 06., We also now have twin great grand children.
I have a silly little black Pomeranian named Belle Fleur de la Mer (Pretty Flower of the Sea). Belle keeps us busy going on walks and visiting with the neighbors. She has more acquaintances than we do. The neighbors beg to babysit her!
We have spent the last 22 years in Tacoma , owned a home, sold it , and have been living aboard boats for the past 13 years. We are liveaboards at the Swantown Marina on East Bay. This is our third boat. She is a 1969 Chris Craft Commander Flush Deck Aft Cabin 42 foot Motor Yacht. We are in heaven. Her name is Island Lady.

10 years ago. I spent about 15 years working in retail and offices than changed and became a grill cook, waitress, lead cook/kitchen manager at old fashioned from scratch cafes for the next 15 years. Not much money but very satisfying. The we decided that we could squeak by so I quit working and we stay aboard our lovely boat and read, walk, watch movies, visit with the neighbors, etc. We have taken a couple short jaunts in her but with gas prices - well , we are happy just to live where we are.
Other days we go on local drives or occasional road trips in Les's car, a replica 1952 MGTD. It is also economical to run and only fits the two of us plus the dog.
Otherwise our daily lives are pretty mellow. Lots of dvd watching and reading. We are meeting all sorts of friends at the marina, in the state parks that we drive or boat to, and around town.
