Meritt Roy's Story
Life
Life: Life is the sharing of ourselves with each other - sharing the message of our spirits. My life has been physical (read jobs etc. in rest of my profile); it has been happy when I have made it happy (whenever with the help of the Greater Spirit I was able); life itself is neutral at best, but I know it only gets better from here on, for those who love the Greater Spirit. "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God...God is Love," so those who don't love God simply can't make life happy and Heaven would be Hell for them. They don't know Love; it's so sad. We and everything around us consist of energy made tangible by swirling electrons in atoms. It would all fall apart and be NOTHING without the energy of the Spirit and the Joy of the Word. God is that Energy and we are a part of It, the Great I Am - Existence.
Einstein said that if so much as a grain of sand exists, there is a God. In answer to the questions where did matter come from in the first place, and how big is infinity, "God" is a much more reasonable answer than "I don't know."
Back here on earth I find slow dancing close to another Heavenly Spirit to be very close to Heaven itself: After all I am a Human Spirit!
School
Two months of first grade in Pennsylvania, then 50 years in Florida schools: Pinellas Park and Seminole Elementaries, Lealman and Tyrone Jr. Highs, and Northeast and Dixie Hollins High Schools. Then St. Petersburg Junior College and the University of Florida and later a Masters at Nova University. Oh, but I taught at Oak Grove, Tyrone, and Seminole Middle Schools as wel...Expand for more
l as Dixie Hollins, Pinellas Park and East Lake High Schools. Now I'm at St. Leo University. I should be pretty smart by now! I was voted Most Humorous in high school, but soon the world hit me in the face; it's starting to get funny again now. (7/07) I'm going to a Hudson car show in Auburn, Indiana - Home of the Duesenberg and Cord. Send me an email once in awhile ---------- and STAY COOL!
Workplace
I've worked 52 jobs since I was eight years old, so I guess it's no surprise that I have had four different jobs since my so-called retirement from Pinellas Schools in 1999, but I enjoy my work and I enjoy the money. I was a teacher, florist, bellman, over the road 18 wheeler driver, salesman, tutor, curator/docent, and many other varied "professions" that have made my life. I'm tutoring English and Humanities at St. Leo University at the moment; after all I was an English, Journalism, Speech and Drama teacher for thirty years. Oh, and I got payback - many times over - for all the things I did myself in school!
Now it's 53 JOBS! I just finished a writing assignment. I had written articles for Tampa Bay Life, but now I'm a playwright. First I was asked to rewrite the Historical Trolley through Dade City script to make it more entertaining for the visitors. I added levity, jokes and such. Then I was asked to write dialogue for an actor and actress to be in three separate skits along the Trolley Route. I even got to make up the skits. I also wrote four sound bites for sites along the route. It was more fun and rewarding than I would have guessed - painting with words.
