Merrilee's Story
How do I catch up on 40+years in a little square? I married Bob McCall who at the time owned Francesco's Italian restaurant in Bountiful where I started working as a senior. We had a boy & 2 girls, and his 2 girls moved in with us shortly after. We now have 10 1/2 grandkids & 5 greats to our family. During the interim we have had as many as 6 restaurants at a time and now are still running 2. One in Bntfl. & 1 in SLC. They are now called Robintino's and we still serve the best pizza and wonderful homemade food. We have traveled a lot and I even learned to scuba-dive although I am not a good swimmer! I have done a variety of "crafty" things and still like to sew. We have a small cabin type house at Flaming Gorge in Utah and I have learned how to fish in the summer. We have spent 3 to 4 months each winter in Cabo San Lucas-however not at one time. I still do books etc for the 2 restaurants & usually will go back & forth 2-3 weeks at a time in Cabo & Bntfl. I have been blessed with pretty good health so far with arthritis being my biggest trouble. I need to loose a little weight & exercise more and things would be better. So far my life has been pretty good. Our kids have done well & after 38 y...Expand for more
ears I think our marriage is OK too. Grandkids are a really lot of fun. They call me "MIMI" because when my first step-daughter had her first baby I was just tooooo young to be grandma and besides there was already a Grandma McCall. So Mimi was what my youngest brother called me when he couldn't pronounce Merrilee and it sorta stuck as a nickname through the years and turned into my Grandma name. Beside kids, grandkids, work and home, I have been very involved in Soroptimist International which is service organization for business woman that do wonderful things to help better the lives of women and girls in our local communities and throughout the world. I give a lot of time to it and derive a lot of fulfillment from it. My best friend from the age of 5 and in high school, Lynne Wiscombe Wilburn is involved with me and we still have a lot of fun together. We talk a lot about our years at Bountiful High and it surely doesn't seem like it could be anywhere near 42 years ago. I hope to hear some good stories from more of you that may read this. I will never forgive our class officers for not putting together a 40 year SOMETHING! Sure hope we will have a get-together in the future. Merrilee
