Mertis Granger:  

Life Formerly named Mertis Dorsey, became Mertis Brown before graduation. I am now Mertis Granger and have walked with the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. I was ordained in 1984. I am a wife, a mother of three children and two step-children, and the proud grandmother of 8 beautiful grandchildren. I am Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization reaching out to our youth to help them become and/or stay involved in agricultural activities such as gardening, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, animal husbandry and other outdoor activities. Before retiring in 2003, I worked for the Federal Government for 36 years. I was in the field of computers for 33 years. For those of you who really knew me, I am not the Mertis Dorsey Brown you remember in High School. I was married very young while still in school. You probably know that my husband died young and so have many of our classmates. We are very blessed to be able to talk with each other. My closest friends know that I was suspended in my last year of High School for fighting and did not actually graduate from Vashon. I graduated from O'Fallon Tech but my heart and all my love is with the students I grew up with you at Vashon.
