Michael's Story
After graduation in 1974, I attended West Virginia University and their ROTC program. I graduated in 1979 and spent 5 years on Active Duty as an Army Engineer at both Fort Lewis, Washington and in South Korea. I left active duty in 1984 but not before meeting and marrying my current wife of 33 years Stephanie. We have one son, Mark who lives locally, and works as a freelance character illustrator/graphic artist. eployments and retired as an Engineer Colonel in 2009. My civilian career included 28 years as a engineer and program manager with the Army Corps of Engineers from which I retired in 2012. I currently work as an engineer and energy consultant, and will probably work at least until I am 65 or until I find something more interesting to do.
