Michael's Story
Life
I have been living in Gilroy, Ca. since 1974 with, Carol, my beautiful wife of 45 years. We are the proud parents of two strapping sons, Gordon (39) and Andrew (36). Gordy is a USC grad producing TV sports for KCBS/KCAL in LA. Andy graduated from Regis Univ. in Denver and is now import account controller with Google . He also recently qualified to be a customs broker and has established his own business entitled Icaris Imports. Gordy married a wonderful girl 4 years ago and they bought their first home in Altadena last year. Needless to say, they are a very satisfying part of our lives. I have owned and operated My Pool N' Spa Center in San Jose since 1986. Just can't keep me away from the water I guess. George Haines, may he rest in peace, would be proud. After graduation I made a short unsuccessful stop at SJSU and then proceeded to the USAF. I experienced a good portion of the Far East and Alaska during that 4 yr. period. Returne...Expand for more

Valley to rescue my GPA. On to a much more successful stint at SJSU. I married my college sweetheart (Carol is a Santa Clara Univ. alum. a 39 yr. math teacher at Bernal JHS-now retired) and we staked our claim in Gilroy. Pursuit of a sales/marketing career eventually lead to taking on the travails of a sole proprietor. It can be challenging, but I wouldn't have any other way. It's my belief that once you have your own business, it's difficult to consider working for somebody else. Family and friends have always been the dominant aspect of my life. Mr. Garton might appreciate noting that I have been and am still singing--- church, theater and such. In fact, I am the baritone member of Garlic City Harmony, a well-known quartet in Gilroy. Now retired, I am looking forward to grandchildren, but that may be awhile. Oh well, I have discovered that patience is, indeed, a virtue of which I have become intimately familiar.
