Michael's Story
Graduated from Choctawhatchee in 1964, moved to Texas and attended a junior college for 2 years. Joined the Navy in 1966 as a Hospital Corpsman. After a year in San Diego stationed on a surgical ward, was sent to Viet Nam, assigned to Marine Corps as a corpsman to an artillery unit, bouncing from mountain top to mountain top. niversity in Nacogdoches, Texas, earning a BBA in Accounting in 1974. First job out of school was as an accountant for Tenneco Oil in Houston. Subsequent companies included IBM, Enron, Florida Exploration, and Galveston County. Had two beautiful children, Chris and Sarah. We lost Chris in 2008 to brain cancer after a 20-month battle - he was 38 when he passed. Chris has a son, our grandson, Brandon, who is 15 now - we are so proud of him. Our daughter, Sarah is 39 and currently lives in Baton Rouge with her husband and daughter, Hailey (6).
