Michael's Story
Life
I graduated SW Dekalb in 1977 and moved back to Miami that summer. I lost touch with most people from SW. I married a girl who graduated from Lakeside High and have one daughter. I moved back to Decatur in 2003. I have a BA and MS from Florida International Unviersity in accounting. I am a licensed CPA in the state of Florida. I've been employed as Federal Law Enforcement officer for over 20 years. Over the last 15 years I have been doing computer forensics on a full time basis. ecatur United Methodist Church. I have been on numerous mission trips and plan to return to East Africa this summer to build an orphanage.
School
The best teacher I had at SW Dekalb was undoubtly, Coach Adams in Modern Novel. Looking back, I wish I had gotten involved in more things at SW Dekalb and worked harder at my school work.
College
The best professor in the accounting department at FIU is Mike Lavin. I graduated from FIU in 1981 with a BA in accounting and passed the CPA exam in late 1981. I continued on at FIU and obtained a MS in Taxation in 1984.
