Michael's Story
Hi everyone, this is Michael Arnold. I'm sure you all remember me as that tall, fat, blond guy with glasses who was so shy that he could barely talk to anyone. I lived in Buffalo, NY from 1959-1966. In 1966 after my parents divorced, my mother and I moved to Phoenix, where I attended Squaw Peak Grade School (grades 2-3) for 2 years. Then in 1968 we moved to Orange for 6 years where I attended California Grade School (grades 4-6) and Peralta Jr. High (grades 7-9). Then we moved BACK to Phoenix in 1974, where I attended Camelback High (grades 10-12) and then ASU for 5 years from 1977-1982. My life slowly changed (the shyness went away), especially in 1976, 1988, 1996...major milestones in my life. In 1976 I became a Christian, in 1988 I "came out" after my mother died and in 1996 I moved from Phoenix to Seattle (my lifelong dream). After graduating ASU with a telecommunications degree, I started my long 30 year career in the cable TV business from 1983-2013. In 2008 I started to trav...Expand for more
el to China (I have no idea why) and then in 2013 after my two old dogs passed away, I quit the corporate job with Comcast in Seattle and I moved to Changzhou, Jiangsu, China. I was a university English teacher for almost 10 years. I have now returned to the USA. Say "hello" or add me to Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn to see all my adventures. Use my full name and you should be able to find me. So great to find some of you...I have a great memory and remember most of your names and faces. I have photos of the Squaw Peak, Peralta and Camelback classes, though none of California Grade School. Yes, it's been a long time since my school years, but 'time never flies' for me...I have lived and 'felt' every moment of these 60+ years. If anything, I live for each day and each moment. All of you were a wonderful 'moment' in time for me and I won't forget it. The nice thing is, so many of us have reconnected on Facebook just like old times. Hope you're all enjoying every moment of your life!
