Michael's Story
Life
Hello everyone! It's funny how life evolves isn't it? I think back to my High School days, thinking of where I thought my life would be headed, what was important to me, where and what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I can honestly say that so far, I've been true to myself and my aspirations. I've had wonderful career experiences through Amoco Oil and University of Phoenix. I had two children in my first marriage, and one in my second - all girls! I'm living in dry Arizona now, where the palm trees and sand co-exist without water... but the ocean is only a day trip away in California. Finally, I have also returned to school to pursue my degree. (about time!)
School
School.... the only thing that kept me going to school - besides the diploma, was the socializing! I resented studying and homework - but loved the jokes, stories, and gossip! We definitely had some 'unique' teachers in HS, but that just added...Expand for more
to the overall experience! I have fond memories of the yearbook office, since it was nothing more than an excuse to hang out w/friends. Symbolic memories include I.O.U., Z Cavericcis (however you spell it!), Drakkar, Iroc Z's, etc.
Workplace
After the starter jobs in retail and factories, I finally found myself in the corporate world - working for Amoco Oil in Chicago, where I stayed for aproximately six years. This was by far the best part of my working history, as I made countless friends, and significant advances in my career potential. My life had changed significantly during my employment at Amoco as well, since that was when I was divorced, moved to Lincoln Park, learned more about myself, and figured out what I wanted out of life as a whole.
Today, living in Arizona, I work for a higher education company, as a Director on the business side of IT. My career continues to evolve and I am always challenged.
