Michael's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Fullerton Junior College, where I received my A.A. Degree in Liberal Studies. I transferred to Cal State Long Beach in the fall of 1994.
I majored in Criminal Justice, and I took some fun classes as well. I tried my hand at German, but gave up on that and stuck with Spanish. I graduated in the fall of 1996.
In the fall of 1997 I went back to school at Fullerton JC. I entered the police academy, and paid my own way through. I graduated from the ten month program in the summer of 1998.
I was still working at Mervyn's when I met my future wife, Nicole Cuevas. She was one of the department coordinators, and we didn't like each other a whole lot at first. That all changed when we were at the store Christmas party a few months later. She asked me to dance, and later that night I asked her out. I kissed her goodnight, and the rest is history.

uly 30, 2000, in Newport harbor. We honeymooned in Las Vegas and San Diego, and we moved to Temecula in October.
After my graduation from the Academy, I applied for many different police departments. I took my first test with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department on October 5, 1999. Nine months and many tests later, I got a call from the department asking if I wanted a job as a Deputy Sheriff. Needless to say, I happily took the job.
I was assigned to the Southwest Jail in Murrieta. Working in the jail was strange at first, but I quickly got used to it. I have been working for the department for six months now, and I am having fun every day.
That brings me up to the present. Nicole and I plan to have children in the next year or less, and we are looking at houses to buy in our area.
