Michael's Story
Life
I married my high school sweetheart; Lockey and I have a great son, but life didn't work out for us. We do, however, double date (yes, we take our spouses) when I'm in the Bay Area. Last Christmas (2004) I married my post-HS sweetheart in Davis. Unfortunately, it took over 25 years from our first engagement to accomplish! We even used the same engagement ring for the second time. Interestingly, Rita and I ran parallel lifes all the years we were apart. She went into law enforcement through Riverside County and I went federal; each had two kids who were born within a year of each other; and significant issues came up in our lives within months of the other. ...Expand for more
Together we have four great kids (Michael II, Michelle, Joseph, and Elena) and three grandkids (Joseph, Allyssa, and Sophie). The kids have meshed together really well - at least they pretend they like having brothers and sisters!
Drum & bugle corps was my love in HS and that hasn't change. Am on the Board of Directors for Yamato Drum & Bugle Corps - a multinational performance organization. I also write a column for Drum Corps World and tour with the kids every summer. Never said I grew up, just got older.
Unfortunately, I've never been able to attend a reunion, but hope to one of these days. Hope all is doing well, for live is very good on this end.
