Michael's Story
After graduating from HS, I went into retail sales for several years. In 1978 I moved back to California and continued in the retail shoe industry for a couple of years. I became an Ontario Police Department officer in 1985 and spent the next 24 years as a cop for this city. I did patrol, training, undercover narcotics investigations, detective for white collar crime and homicide, was promoted to sergeant, ran the training department for several years, did background investigations, and ran the Field Training division. tor, impact weapons instructor, police knife instructor, taser instructor and several other areas of use of force. I retired from the police department in 2007 after having a second neck fusion.
I am now an author of the book 'Behind the Badge, A Policeman's Legacy' ( behindthebadge.us ) and I spend my time scuba diving, writing, boating, and traveling. I live in N. Idaho with my wife, a black lab, and two cats. We have ten acres of forest land and we love the solitude and beauty of this area. We get lots of moose, deer, turkeys and tons of other wildlife.
