m's Story
Spent the 1st eight years after high school surviving a marriage that was wrong. Spent 80-81 out in Dubuque, Iowa working my way up through a Medical Software company before moving back to Indy to help my 1st wife's brother-in-law startup a Software consulting company of his own. Continued to build my analytical/programming skills along with knowledge in the use of database structures and design, mainly via my own efforts. Spent 14 years building my knowledge and reputation in the mainframe systems design areas. First 2 years were spent working for an HMO in Seattle Washington, designing, rebuilding and upgrading their Accounts Payables System. During that tour of work I got divorced, met a lovely Korean Lady who owned the Tavern I spent most my free time in shooting pool or watching Football, purposed over a bouquet of flowers one morning and got married a week later. We started a family so she sold the tavern and like a fool returned to Indy and lived in the Speedway area by the track for the next 11 years. I took on a new assignment in Lafayette at TRW, which 2 years later lead to another assignment in Lafayette at Alcoa. Spent the next 4 years there before moving on to Fort Wayne to setup and manage an account at GTE for 7 months, then returned to Alcoa and Lafayette for another 2 years. iana and after 4 years on that contract I accepted a Group Leader position with SIA and have been there ever since trying to pull them out of the early 70's computing era and bring them up to at least the 20th century. During all this we had a daughter followed 4 years later by a son, moved out to Brownsburg and built a new home where we still live. My wife is Korean and a touch older than I, my daughter is 24, and my son is 20. My daughter spent 4 years at Purdue studying Aviation Technology advancing through ROTC in the Army National Guard. She recently returned after serving her country as a 2nd Lieutenant in Iraq with a platoon of 45 men performing Convoy Security support and has 1 year of college remaining to complete her Engineering degree. My son is also at Purdue and in the Army National Guard as a PV2 Diesel Mechanic studying Ecconomics and Business/Accounting. My wife grew up in Seoul, South Korea and is one of the best cooks you would ever want to meet. She also is quite talented at Floral arrangements which she does for weddings and her Korean church. As for me I spend most my free time surfing the web or playing Call-of-Duty UO, 4, currently 5-World-at-War with a very diverse bunch of old farts and has-beens known as -=MAC=- or the Mature Adult Community of Gamers.
