Michael's Story
Life
After high school I attended North Seattle community College, in the Engineering Technology/Drafting program.
I have been in construction and metal fabrication ever since.
Jane and I were introduced in 1985 and were married in 1987. We have 4 children, with the oldest being 18 years old, and the yougest 4 years old.
These days it's just a blur of kids, sports, work, and family stuff.
Workplace
Right after leaving NSCC, I went to work in Seattle for an elctical contractor, doing estimating. I was also an apprentice commercial electrician for a sgort period of time.
My next job was as a draftsman for an architectural metal panel distibutor/manufacturer. I bacame a project manger for them a few months later.
I worked in Portland for a few months doing purchasing for another metal panel manufacturer. This job was kind of a drag.

and produced shop drawings and submittal drawings for a while.
In 1985 I went to work for Eastide Glass as a commercial project manager. I worked on large commercial glazing projects for them for 9 years. In 1987, needing to make more money, I started tending bar at night, which I continued for 7 years. Working 2 jobs was gruelling but it worked out.
I went to work for and architectural metal fabrcicator in 1994, as the general manager. I helped take the company from bankruptcy to a solid success in the 4 years I was there.
In 1998, I started work for my current company. I was brought on to manage a division in Kirkland that they had recently purchased. After 2 years in Kirland, we decided to consolidate the operations of the shops in Auburn. I became a part owner during this time. We are very successful fabricating storefronts and entrances for lots of high-end retail clients. We manufacture for most of the Tiffany's, Gucci, and Cartier stores in the country, as well as many others.
