Life Having been encouraged to leave LSHS by Mr Brennan in the fall of 73, I got my GED in April of 74. I cleaned up my act in late 74 and have been alcohol and drug free for over 35 years. I started working as an orderly at Lockport Hospital in ther spring of 75, joined the Army National Guard in 76 and enlisted in the regular army in 78. I spent 3 years in Berlin, Germany, which at first freaked me out because of the Wall and the fact we were 120 miles inside the East Block and surrounded. I soon learned that Berlin was a great city of 3 or 4 million people that had things to do 24-7. I enjoyed my tour. I managed to get out of the line Infantry Comapany I was in and played drums for a year with the 298th Army Band, Berlin Brigade's Own. I traveled with the band to several cities in Germany and spent some time in Belgium. I left Berlin in Dec 81 and after 7 months training in Texas, I was assigned to a MASH unit at Ft Meade, MD until I my discharge in April of 84.
