Life has been interesting since I left the Cherokee camp grounds in 1970. That summer I met my wife of 37 years and moved to Houston to be near her. I entered the Air Force in 1973 and married Willie Aileen Ritchie July 9, 1973. I had 14 assignments and deployed 47 times during my most interesting career. My wife and I have a 35 year old son who is a 2nd Lt in the US Army and is married with one daughter and a second daughter due in April 2010. My daughter is a single parent and lives in Wichita Falls Texas. My family and I had the joy of being stationed in England, Japan and Germany. I had separate tours in Italy and Korea. I served my last 6 years as the Command Functional Chief for Civil Engineers assigned to Air Education and Training Command. My proudest moments during my career were when I was able to help those airmen and officers I was assigned with. I also had the privilege of serving in Saudi Arabia where I was injured during the Khobar Towers bombing in 1996. I retired in 2003 after 30 years of serving the best people in the world ...
