Michael's Story

Michael Dario Galatolo, born September 28, 1956 passed quietly, at home surrounded by family and friends on the afternoon of March 12, 2009. More information regarding Michael: .caringbridge. org/visit/michaelgalatolo Michael, the first born in San Francisco, to Cheryl Marie (Kelsay) Galatolo formally of Kelseyville, CA and Dario Joseph Galatolo of San Francisco. The family soon grew to include his brother Anthony (Tony) Galatolo of Novato and sister Kari Guy of Menlo Park. The family moved to southern Marin, living in Tiburon and Mill Valley, before relocating in the early 70's to Novato. Michael attended Tamalpais High school and graduated from Novato High school in 1974. During school years, Michael enjoyed playing in the neighborhoods, building forts and go carts, and playing baseball on the local little league teams. During high school Michael played football and baseball continuing baseball and softball for years after simply for fun. Michael studied metal, auto courses and took fiberglass classes, leading to a love for building, fixing and modifying his cars. Later in life Michael found a lot of pleasure in working with landscape projects, and participating in any family or child related event. king quietly with a smile or a quick, witty comment. He was shy about being in the spotlight, but will be remembered for his generous spirit, quiet sense of humor and knowing smile. Michael joined the family business, Marin Color working in San Rafael and Novato, before building his own business, ColorFast Paints in 1997 in Novato. Michael met and married Kim Yeo of Novato, a San Marin graduate. Together for nearly 30 years, they raised a family and built a business in Novato, ColorFast Paints, participating & contributing to many community events, projects and efforts including the founding of the Novato Charter School. Michael is survived by his wife Kim and his beloved children, Dante Anthony and Marina Kelsay Galatolo who were by his side as he took his final breath on that fateful day. Michael is also survived by aunts, uncles, and beloved cousins, dear friends and the above named family living in and around Northern California. Michael and Kim have always chosen education as their priority and ask you make a contribution towards their childrens college fund below as education lives forever, giving his children so much more in life.
