Michael's Story
After 1968 went to Northeastern University up in Boston. Graduated from a five year program in six years (I was a little distracted) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Started working for GE in 1974 as a Start-Up Engineer for ships and power plants, worked my way through the company until I left GE in 1986 as a Regional Sales Manager for a portion of their South American Utility business. Came back to the Boston area in 1978; been here since. Got my MBA in the meantime. Worked for a small medical instrument company called GSIG for 17 years after GE in a variety of positions, all in Sales and Marketing. Left them in 2005 and went back to big business at Toshiba where I'm in Sales. I thank the education that I received at Islip for giving a great foundation to build on, and I thank the coaches of teams that I played on for teaching me the value of teamwork and perseverance. ved from schools. There's a lot that some kids will miss out on.
Married my wife Jeannie after being together since 1992 in 2005 (it took a little convincing.) I've known her since 1970 but that's another story for another time. Never been happier in my life. Bobby Clock was my Best Man.
Jeannie and I are both crazy Red Sox fans who go to Florida every year for Spring Training and try to attend as many games as we can during the year. After so many years of getting trounced by the Yankees, winning it all in 2004 than again in 2007 was unbelievable
Still listen to music, from the Dixie Chicks to Sufjan Stevens (who?) The Boston area has many music venues to take advantage of, so we attend plays, musicals, and concerts. From Choir and Miss Burrows I gained a love of show tunes (which baffles my wife) but she humors me. I only know the bass parts because the sopranos always got the good parts!
I still miss Bobby Lorenz. And Larry Arnott. To absent companions.
