Michael's Story

I Graduated in 1975 from NSU, then went to Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Schumpert Hospital, in Shreveport, La. I left after 24 years there insearch of something. Although I had a spell without work, something was missing. Now I work for private physcians, in a low key enviroment which I enjoy. The physcians look at me for suggestions and my opinions. Not like the Hospital grind where you are a number , just to be deleted at a whim! What I miss,----- Sit down. I actually enjoyed my teen years. To me there was nothing like playing music and performing. Yes, remember those steppin stones! Those years were the best. Although I played with other bands which I do not want to be left out, To all these people, it was great and I am glad that I was a part of it. I want to thank my Mother, for always having faith in me even when things were rough, although, I still consider myself a Rebel at heart. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to join a band again after all these years. I finally figured out to quit trying to please evryone and concentrate on myself. Now I have more fun and do things that I like. We play regular, have released two great CD's, which as I might add has a fine Hammond B3 on it. Played by , ---you guess it! Meeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I hope to add a site where you can listen, as soon as I can get my son to help me! (Ha Ha) I always wanted to be a Teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I still would like to be a teacher though. Things just happened differently. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, chocolate, and chocolate and just another swallow of coffee to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Actually, I have a very good job now but still enjoy the coffee and chocolate. I would probably weigh 500 lbs if I still lived in Alexandria, how I loved shipley donuts, ohooooooooo chocolate filled!!!!!!!!!!! The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is James cole and Robert Cole, because I haven't seen these people or heard from them since 1971. It would be nice to get together and have a jam session..I also miss all the friends I made during those years. How things change so fast, I wonder what happened to it all. Can yo...Expand for more
u remember the CYO and the other places they had dances. I enjoy other sports then the normal. Martial arts, Soccer, barefooting,( watersking)and Hockey. Oh, I do like to watch the Mudbugs play every year For those of you, who like me have forgotten things and people, I was raised at Camp Beauguard and went to paradise elem. then I spent one year at Tioga. My family moved from Camp Beau to old Marksville Hwy where I was at Pineville Jr. high. Then i went one year a PHS and decided to quit school. Yep, I had a hard time fitting in and missed a lot of my old friends I had made in my younger years. After my parents step in, Naturally, I got a car and went to Bolton where I graduated in 1970. Those years from 13-15 years old were very hard for me as I did not seem to fit, like a square peg in a round hole. Music was my outlet and I concentrated on the band. I have to mention that I was quite shy, I always wanted to talk to girls, but I had a very low self esteem problem, which made it difficult for me in those years. Anyway, to all those people who ask? I know that some people saw me in my high school years playing music, it would have been nice to talk to you. I know the name, but can't place that guy, now you know. What I learned was how much my mother loved me. What she did to help me through life. It is sad that we as kids sometime don't get it till we are grown and have kids ourselves to appreciate our parents. The older I get the more outspoken and political I have become. Most people say that I would be wa-----y to the right, as I was brought up on certain morals, which includes right from wrong, and have refused to change. Career aspirations at my age, you got to be kidding. Just let me win the lottery. Other aspirations would be a reuion of the orginal band the steppin stones. Now that would be something!! My best friend would tell you I'm a workaholic, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as being rich. I live comfortable but work like a dog, as I have more than one job. Really, I hate to buy clothes. I buy just what I need and that is it. I will wear something till it falls off. I would rather spend my money on doing other things, like a old vox amp, old car, some new tools (craftsman) another gun, and the list goes on!Mgauth,0ne,seven,five, four at aol
