I attended West Broad Street Elementary at the corner of Broad St. and Hague Ave. in Columbus from K-6 or 1955-1962. I still remember my teachers: K: Mrs lane; 1st : Miss Birch; 2nd: Miss Thompson; 3rd: Mrs Graham; 4th: Miss Michelis; 5th: Mrs. Boland; 6th: Mrs. Page. Our principal was Mr. Rader. Grade 7 and 8 were at Westmore Jr. H.S. on Valleyview Drive, 1962-1964. My parents moved us to the north end of Columbus and I attended Worthington H.S. (now known as Thomas Worthington) grades 9-12, class of 1968. Summers were spent at the Hilltop Swim Club and got my first exposure to competitive swimming there. Had a great coach in summer of 1963 - Jack Shasserre who had been on the OSU swimming team and nearly made the 1956 US Olympic team.
