Michael's Story
I'm an eclectic kind of guy. The house is filled with collections - rocks and minerals, pottery, Olympic pins, pictures, books, tools, unfinished projects...
I hope my friends remember me as someone they could talk to about anything from the shallowest of stuff to the deepest feelings. I treasure my friends, but I'll warn you now, I am trained to attack my enemies. I was a paratrooper in the Army - death from above - but I was also a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I can stand and stare for hours at a time, or I can become an explosive device in a heartbeat.
For work, I wear many hats - software development manager, database designer/administrator, IT engineer (computer systems, IP networks), project manager - many types of IT and A/V projects...
I used to be VP of Applications, Network & Systems Solutions Div. - NDCHealth, Atlanta, GA, but they laid me off before they sold the company. Now I'm the Director of Project Management and Operations at PearlNet, LLC in Atlanta.
I'm also on the side an independent IT cons...Expand for more
ultant in the southeastern US.
I like to relax by going places and doing things like visiting museums, public works, big engineering projects and the like - I'm fascinated by how it turns out when a plan comes together. I also enjoy playing bridge, reading, surfing the web, or doing something outside in the yard or in the neighborhood. Often I use the Wikipedia as a starting point for web surfing. My interests there are geology and mineralogy, physics, computer science, ancient history, military history, religions.
I like to work on my 50-year old house and yard, eat out with my wife and daughters, communicate with family and old friends. I also write a lot, and would someday like to publish.
I also love to travel, and especially enjoy my work with the Salvation Army. the US Army and the US Air Force. My associates and I have built some pretty potent databases and communications systems over the years, and I'm very proud of what we've done in that regard. Some of the applications are enormously important behind the scenes...
