Michael's Story
"......lately it occurs to me, what a long strange trip its been."
I left Hueytown a few months after graduation, moved to Alabaster, got married, became a Paramedic, had/have two daughters, Melanie and Melinda,worked with the Alabaster FD for 10 years, divorced, remarried and moved to Gulf Shores in 1988. I've been with Gulf Shores FD ever since, divorced again in 2001. I got a little shack just off the beach and a little sailboat that I hope to do some extended cruising on in a couple of years when I retire. Daughters are doing well in Montavallo and Atlanta. I have 1 grandbaby and another on the way.

there about once every couple of months to help take care of Mom. Brother Tim was killed in a car accident back in 1981. Brother Pat has been living for many years, happily ever after, in PC, Fla. In the past 21 years here in Gulf Shores I run into people from the Hueytown area, but actually haven't seen much of any classmates since the graduation ceremony.
I think that I'm the oldest firefighter/ paramedic still running emergency calls on a daily basis in this part of the country,.....and still lovin' it! On my off days I sail a little, travel a little, most of the local rif raff know me here. I'm not going anywhere. Love it here. What's been going on?
