Michael Higgins:  

Michael is from Lakewood, Ohio. He is married with Andrea Lamb Higgins. His schools include Lakewood High School. More about Michael:"I was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio. In 1964, I became interested in welding during my senior year in high school while working with hot rod cars. I spent hours in the library reading about famous sculptors but never had formal schooling in art. In 1965 I went into the Army and spent time in Viet Nam until 1968. In the early 1970’s I was still working on hot rod cars and motorcycles and built a custom chopper frame. I then started experimenting with metal sculptures and worked with brass, copper and cut nails. In 1975, I started showing my sculptures at the Malvina Freedson Gallery in Lakewood, Ohio. We decided to do a one man show so I spent the year in 1976 making welded steel sculpture and had my show in 1977. The next year I was part of a two-man show at the New Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio.
