Michael's Story

Hello fellow classmates. As everyone might remember I was in Advertising Art for 3 years. I was also your Senior Class Vice-President class of 72 and composed the Senior Class Song. I am the multi-talented Actor, Artist, Sailboat Captain, Chef, Musician, Photographer and Singer. I recently was a featured extra in The American Horror Story as the Piano Man. The first episode of 2013 season. My casting agent has plans to place me in another episode this season. I am also going to be in the new Warner Brothers film featuring Ed Harris being filmed here in New Orleans. I was actually a contender to be Ed Harris stand-in for the entire production of the new film. The casting director selected three others. Update, I was recently selected by my casting agent to appear in a TV commercial in a non speaking role at the end of the month. Also, auditioned and was selected to perform my original classical music for an original local play here in New Orleans, Louisiana. The performance was held for two nights in a historic home located in the Bywater and was a huge success. Appeared as a featured extra new NCSI New Orleans TV series. now longer in production as of 2021. Update I was also director selected winning the audition for featured role as Principal Actor, performed my original piano rendition in The Free State Of Jones as role of The Piano Man an epic civil war movie to be released May, 2016, featured in the remake of Alex Hailey's acclaimed movie "Roots" also in 3 episodes of the summer tv series Zoo on CBS Tuesday in one scene yet to air role of Coroner in a second episode a passenger aboard a boat in a 3rd episode the role as a scientist also will appear in Quarry a Bravo series about the Vietnam War to be released in the near future also sometime in October 2015 will appear in a National Geographic PBS documentary as a dinner at a restaurant, \ My professional career involved as Advertising Layout Artist for D. H. Holmes, Maison Blanche, worked as typesetter and layout for Gambit Newspaper and various other media positions. I was also a desk clerk concierge for 6 years locally. I was always an over achiever and in 1997 I went to a local cooking school here in New Orleans and have maintained my culinary career as a Chef. I was also a chef aboard large scientific explorations boats for over 5 years in the Gulf of Mexico and Shell Platforms. I spent 8 years as saucier at the Louisiana Super Dome, The World Trade Center, Pat O'Brians and other world famous restaurants. I worked 2 years as saute chef ...Expand for more
at Loyola University Dining Services with Sodexo Catering and 3 years at Tulane University; I took leave of absence to pursue acting career. I am now 66 and in February of 2014 applied for early social security and plan on retiring soon. Have been enjoying early social security!!! I have continued over the years maintained my artistic talents and photography, my visual work can be viewed at Fine Art America on line eyeseecolors.artistwebsites.com and plan in the future my first premier photography show. A collection of my 54 years of photography. Also now published photo in a novel by Eve Pell, Love,After the name of the novel interviews of people who find love in their 60s Michael Hoard photographer. I traveled the country and performed at various performing arts centers with a local mens chorus ensemble. In the 90's performed with the New Orleans Opera Chorus as a Tenor 1 in the famed Opera Production of Aida here in New Orleans at the Saenger Theater. My future plans are to continue my photography and involvement in the movie industry locally. I am now official retired from a career in cooking which consumed 17 years in the culinary profession here in New Orleans and in the Gulf of Mexico. This summer I went on an adventure of a lifetime to the Mayan Pyramids in the Yucatan and climbed to the top above the jungle floor. Update!!!! Soon to return to work part-time or full time and pursue a lifetime quest the purchase of a 32 to 35 ft sloop sailboat and circumnavigate journeys every three months. anticipating christening sometime in April 2023 and set sail over 10 year decade adventures. Update this November 25 2022 I will be 71 years old My explorations will be documented over you-tube with maritime real-time tracking for those interested to follow along the adventure..... I changed professions every 10 years with the mindset "no goal is beyond reach while achieving success" On May 23rd I purchased my first sloop sailboat a Cal Jensen Mark II 34 ft sailboat. The sailboat a racer / coastal cruiser. The boat an antique teak interior there were only 600 manufactured in 1969 globally. I am presently restoring and making major upgrades the sailboat currently has a rebuilt atomic 4 gas engine and have current upcoming converting to all green solar powered electric engine.
