Michael's Story
Life
I guess its time to update this thing. Life is cool! I have a cool job, a few cool hobbies, cool friends, I go to a cool Church, The Hot rod Church for Sinners (seriously) and I have a cool family! Cool, huh? Life has been exciting over the past 25 years with many up and downs and trials and tribulations. But without conflict, life is boring and you dont learn much. I had a lot of dreams/fantasies throughout the years (ahem) decades that many have come to be. As a girls volleyball coach, I won a CIF Championship in 1998 and a Junior Olympic Gold Medal in the summer of 2005. I retired from coaching after coaching for almost 30 years (yes when we were still in high school) and 23 years of volleyball. I also coached track and field (high jump, long jump and triple jump) as well as pretty much every other sport you can think of. I have performed on stage with the rockabilly band that I now help manage, Hot Rod Trio, and I have done some studio recording with a select group of guitar players called The Guitar Summit. I have turned myself in to a writer, writing a book, which I hope someday gets published, freelance writing for a music magazine call Rockabilly Magazine, writing songs and writing for my job at KBRT Radio AM-740, which I will talk about in the Work section. I taught high school Physical Education, Health, World History and Computers for a...Expand for more
while and actually served as ASB Advisor for a year. For those of you who remember me, this might seem a little frightening to you. Back in high school I was anti-Student Government and I hated school. There have been other cool things that have happened, but I wont get into that. Oh yeah! Never been married and havent gotten any surprise Fathers Day cards in the mail. If you want to know anymore, just ask.

Workplace
I have a GREAT job. I am the Writer/Producer for KBRT Radio AM-740. Basically, I write commercials and produce them to be put on the air. The job just fell into my lap after being unemployed for about a year-and-a-half. For those of you who have been unemployed and looking for a job, you understand the frustrations of not finding work, but good things go to those who wait, and my patients REALLY paid off. I love my job. I cant; believe I get paid decent money to do what I do. I also am a freelance writer for Rockabilly Magazine out of Austin, TX. Another job that sort of fell into my lap. It doesnt pay hardly anything, but Ive met and become friends with some pretty cool and somewhat famous people. Some you may have heard of and many you have not, but theyre grinding it out, staying true to their music, which is worth more than the bazillions the famous and usually less talented musicians make. Thats about it. At least for now.
