Having been married for 34 years, my wife suddenly fell victim to a very rare cerebral vascular condition and within six months was gone. Fifteen months later I found myself in the hospital preparing for back surgery due to the accumulative effects of arthritis. After the surgery I had to learn to walk again and had about 18-24 months of rehab ahead of me. I was never in the market for a new wife ... after all who'd want to put up with a 60 year old fart who couldn't\ even dance. I decided to move from Pittsburgh down to Lake Jackson, TX where my step-mother and new husband [Kerry ... a retired Naval Captain] lived to recuperate. That Thanksgiving Kerry's family came to dinner. Kerry's oldest daughter had just been divorced and we began what we saw was simply a good friendship. Through God's sweet graces, we discovered an incredible number of similar thoughts, likes, dislikes and philosophical agreements. We also realized that we had fallen in love. We were married May 3rd, 2008. Our Honeymoon involved an Alaskan Cruise and driving around the West and Northwest.
