Michael R.'s Story
1968 Graduated from United Township High School. In the fall of 1968 moved to Chicago. Went to the Academy of Fine Art for 2 Years. September of 1970 got drafted. ARMY for 4 years 3 mos 26 days, 1 year in the states 3 years 1 month & 26 days over in Germany. Pulled basic traing at Ft. Lewis, WA. Went to Ft. Lee, VA for my next training Classes. Went to Germany in September of 1971, Loved it over there, in Europe. The people are much more open minded about everything.Tried to get a European discharge when getting out of the service. d at J Deere Harvester worked there for 5 years got laid off. Went back to ShortHills. in October 1987 moved to Naples, FL. NO MORE COLD & SNOW... Worked at Vineyards Golf & CC. 18 years there retired at 55 in 2005. Thats it for now......Enjoying the sunshine. Traveling to California to visit my brother John, and sister Bonnie. Bonnie went to UTHS and she would have graduated in 1957 had she stayed at UT.
John went to John Deere Public School, before moving to CA.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Barbara Lannan, because she was a Art Class Buddy. We had good times in art class.
