Life in the Army was great, 3 squares and plenty of ammo, schools to teach you to lead, to think on your feet and how to stay alive. I went back in in 1997, to keep my skills finely honed, one weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer for annual training, it was cool to shoot and blow things up, went to US Army Scout Sniper school after 911, did a tour in Iraq, that was explosive...literally!, but getting on ground for Hurricane Katrina from the get go was such a moving experience, good and bad.
