Michael's Story
As the Grateful Dead would say .... what a long strange trip it has been. Hard to believe that it has been some 40 years since high school. From high school to U of C right after graduation in 1973 (I spent that first summer working on a farm) ... dropped out of Engineering after a year - spent 3 years in a variety of unsatisfactory undergrad courses. Worked and traveled ... in Europe and the US for several years, and eventually ended up as project manager/builder in an alternative archite...Expand for more
cture project in Arizona for 3 years. I spent a year in New York, and then moved to Toronto. Got an art degree at U of T (at the tender age of 30) - finished there and came back to Calgary (after some 10 years) to get a Master's degree in Architecture. I designed and built houses for several years, and now work as an architect for a small firm, as well as doing freelance illustration and design. I was finally able to find someone who would put up with me, and am married with 2 great kids.
