Life
I spent 14 more years in school after Roosevelt (University of Washington, then Stanford University, then MIT), and finally got my first real job in 1996, as a professor of biochemistry at Yale University. Now I'm a tenured professor at Yale, so I guess I never am going to leave school. I run a research lab at Yale studying how neurons in the brain communi...Expand for more
cate with each other, and I also teach undergraduates and graduate students. I married my wife, Lore Gruenbaum, in 2000. Lore is also a scientist from Germany, but we met not through science but rather by playing in an amateur string quartet together. We had our first child, Benjamin, in 2004, and a daughter Miriam in 2007. We live in Greenwich, Connecticut.
