Michael's Story

Life After graduation I bummed around for a while trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Several differant jobs in construction, utilities, mechanicing. You name it. Finally landed a job at Tri-County Elec Coop in March of 1984 and have been there ever since. Started as a groundsman. Worked my way up to Journeyman linesman and now I'm the detail engineer/storeskeeper. I married Deidre Parnell in April 1985. We had some rough times but we servived and have grown closer than ever the last 10 or so years. We tried for a long time to have children but it just never happened. We were blessed in Nov 2004 with being asked to adopt a boy we were keeping for his mother while she was in jail. We had him for so long she ask us to keep him. Zaden is now a little over 2yr. We are in the process of adopting now. We moved back to Lipan from Granbury in Oct 2004 and live on Robinson Creek. It's everything Deidre & I ever wanted i...Expand for more
n a property. We have a nice park like area down by the creek. Well, it's now 2011. After 25 years, Deidre and I have gotten divorced. Just goes to show you life doesn't always turn out like you expected. Zaden is growing into a fine young man. He's almost 7 now and I'm really starting to enjoy his company. He's usually with his mom during the week and with me on the weekends. He's getting really good at sports. He loves baseball. Wow, I can't believe it's been 10 years since I added to this last. How time flies. Things haven't changed much though, Zaden is 17 now, driving and has a part time job he likes. He has grown into a very fine young man. I'm still with Tri County Electric but in the accounting dept now. Coming up on 38 years next march. We recently built a shop and are in the process of finishing it out. Looking forward to retiring and having lots of time to mechanic on the mustang and Harleys with Zaden.
