Michael McClary:

CLASS OF 1974
Cupertino, CA

Michael's Story

I attended Monta Vista my Junior and Senior year. I also attended Fremont High School Freshman year and a high school in England my sophomore year. I went to UC Davis for my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. While working for an Aerospace Defense company, I went to University of Maryland and Boston University for graduate degrees in Computer Science and Business. Much easier because the company paid for it while I worked. I took transfers with the company to Europe for several years and Washington DC. After 32 years primarily developing satellite systems, I took an early retirement with Lockheed Martin as an executive in 2011. I am married to a wonderfu...Expand for more
l wife Patricia and was blessed with 4 children, all are on their own. I bought a home in Cupertino in 1979 and have kept Cupertino as home base. Even though I traveled over 2,500,000 miles in my job (all over the world), we travel a lot every year about 100,000 miles each year. For fun I ride my bike, snow ski, work on my properties, advise and serve on boards, and work with my electronics and amateur radio. I commuted for 20 years 25 miles on my bike each day in the bay area 95% of the time. I have been a ski instructor and instructor trainer up at Lake Tahoe for the past 34 years (fun job). I enjoyed the 45th reunion. I look forward to the 50th reunion.
