It's been a long time since McCluer days. I'll give you the short version of life since then. Went to FVCC for 1 1/2 years then transferred to Missouri School of Mines in Rolla. Dropped out in Nov 1967, no money to go on went in the Army, hoping to go back on GI Bill. 1968/69 found me in Cu Chi, Vietnam got out of there safely, came back and married Barbara Ann Babbit (Class of 65) and out of the Army in 1970 to go back to school. Graduated in 1972 from MSM which had by then become UofMo-Rolla with a BS in Chemical Engineering. Tough time to be job hunting took a job in the R&D Dept of Brown Shoe Co. in Clayton for a year. I then got the job I had been hoping for with UOP out of Des Plaines, IL. Ended up divorced in 1974. Remarried in 1975 (way too soon). Went to Kuwait with the new wife in the summer of 76 to startup a refinery unit there, fall in London, then off to sunny Spain for a year for another startup. Back to Chicago for a week then to Argentina for a startup. Took an office job in 77 but ended up doing another startup in Chile as we were short of field people. Spent a lot of years designing refinery units for all over the USA and the rest of the world with tech service or sales visits during that time. Got dicorced after 14 years and 3 sons (away from home too much). Helped start a new Division of the company, eventually it did $100 million a year in business....Expand for more
