Michael's Story
Life
After graduation from High School I continued to work for Mac's electronics on Tweedy Blvd, until I enlisted in the Air Force in Oct, 1969. On Feb. 21, 1970 I married my High School Sweetheart, Lonnie Parlee, ("the twin"). We have two married children, a daughter and a son , who have blessed us with six grandchildren (three boys and three girls; ages, 24, 19, 18, 11, 9 and 8), and two great grandchildren. We love living in Northern California, In 1973 I separated from the Air Force and started my education. I attended Grad school in Berkeley and we have lived in Northern California ever since. I have now retired after serving as a Lutheran Pastor, and I am looking forward to down-time, traveling, time with Lonnie and the grandchildren....Expand for more
In 1985 I reentered the Air Force as a reservist and was mobilized to active duty during Desert Shield/ Desert Storm. The Air Force took me all around the world; but in June 2007 I retired, In July of 2007 we traced my family roots and traveled to Ireland. We loved Ireland! My family has its origins in Cork. Another highlight in my life was traveling with Lonnie to and spending a month in the Holy Land. Today I spend most of my time with my cat "Spike," golfing, gardening, listening to oldies music, especially Doo Wop, watching the Dodgers on TV, fishing with the wife, and I also read -- a lot. We spend a good deal of our spare time traveling around Gold Country, the old mining towns, and the Redwoods. Thank you friends for the memories!
