Michael's Story
Military
I am currently serving in the Air Force. I enlisted and started basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio Texas on 13 Jan 1988. After 6 weeks of basic, I was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for Heavy Equipment Operator school. After finishing technical school, I was assigned to Norton Air Force Base, Redlands California in May of 88. I remained at Norton until Jan 89 when I was transferred to Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane Washington. I spent 3 years at Fairchild where my oldest son Jared was born. a Heavy Equipment Operator, I cross-trained into the Communication-Computer Operator carrer field. I was assigned to Beale Air Force Base, Linda California in Jan 92. I remained at Beale until June of 94 when the government sent me on a 1 year vacation to Osan Air Base, South Korea. Once that was complete I returned to Beale. While there my daughter Celia was born and was transferred to Ramstein Air Base, Germany in Oct 97. We anticipate that we will leave in Nov of 2005 for locations unknown. While here the last of my children Erik was born.
