Michael H.'s Story

I always wanted to be a successful entreprenuer and retire so that I can be lazy, when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a fairly attainable idea given I was halfway there. As it turns out, they were not completely wrong. Once I made the decision that Foot Locker at the Sunnyvale Mall was not for me...I started a business and became my own boss. I'll never work for that shithead again - he doesn't even allow vacation time. Long hours and barely making enough to get by, I built a solid business and learned one of life's most valuable lesson; never consume Top Ramen noodles for more than 5 consecutive days. Actually, it was a direct result of overextending and almost going under. After navigating a multitude of industries, and armed with some solid customer references, I took my dog and pony on the road, made a bunch of money doing what comes naturally and sort of continue to do so today. I would have much rather started up a recording studio or built hand crafted furniture, not the particle board garbage that Indonesian sweat shops and IKEA turn out; but I can't complain as ironically, I do own my little piece of the american dream, right next to all my dysfunctional driving asian cousins in Cupertino. <<grin>> So what's next? I don't know... start a Guitar Hero Band to open up for Judas Priest. The only reason for business, money, etc. was to trade it in for independence and to have the time to enjoy life...after all, we trade one for the other until the bittersweet end. eminding me that I don't know jackshit and lately I've been in agreement. I'll ponder what comes next over a long stretch of Highway 1 with the throttle wide open. Lucky for me that I couldn't afford a motorcycle when I was younger or I probably wouldn't be writing this ridiculous, self-evangelist crap; but I've come to realize that even the worst day of riding beats any other doing something else. I hardly obsess over anything, although I do consider myself opinionated and passionate about a great number of things. First thing that comes to mind - Raising and teaching my spoiled ass kids (who are really not spoiled - just soft! :-) how to respect themselves first, but with the humility that comes with doing so for everyone else on this planet. Like it or not, we're all still very much in this together. Get a freakin' life if you're still reading my reflections & rants. I'm using the **STORY WIZARD** so what did you expect!? I sincerely wish all my childhood friends (and non-friends for that matter, as I don't recall a genuine dislike for anyone in particular), casual acquaintances... hell, even George W. Bush; the best in their current and future endeavors. I thank everyone's favorite English teacher MILF, Mrs. Ortiz, for holding my attention long enough for me to retain **some** English mechanics - Mr. Duncan gets props also...else I wouldn't be able to **express** myself with vigor and passion ;-). So, no more about me...how about you!? Feel free to drop a line or chat about whatever. Humble regards, -Michael
