Michael's Story
After graduating from Edina West, that summer, I worked in Montana. On the same weekend Dave Keppel (sp?), another of our classmates, got killed at an airshow, I was in a traffic accident. After many years, one can say I've recovered, but in some ways, I will never recover. While I did try more schooling, I only completed under two years, of after high school education. My marriage to a Bloomington Kennedy, '79 grad, in 1986, lasted almost 20 yrs. (Do you all remember a drive in movie place at France Av and 494... After that was torn down, there was a bar there... We met in that bar.)
The thing I am most proud of is my daughters, Jennifer and Carolyn, both attended Creek Valley, the same school I went to. An interesting side note, the little sister of one of our classmate, is the principle of CV, Kari Dahlquist. Both daughters are making a name for themselves at Valley View, then the High School. continues to be so greatly represented. (As many remember, my Mom taught throughout Edina, I'm the oldest of four - all went through Edina - and my kids are continuing.)
For years I was the housewife, male version. Currently, a store at The Galleria is my place of employment.
My brother Pat is running a chemical company down in Des Moines. My sister Teri, lives in Edina, and works at The National Sports Center, in Blaine. My brother Dan is out west, living and working as a ski bum.
Just west of France Av, on Gallagher, my home is in Cedar's of Edina. As many may know, just east of France Av, the Centennial Lakes Shopping Center has been developed and the city of Edina continues to develope a park around Centennial and what is being called The Promenade - the walkway from Centennial to The Galleria, behind Byerlys and Super Target.
