Michael's Story
After graduation I entered the Air Force thinking it would be for four or eight years and then get out. Twenty one years later I retired from the military as a Master Sergeant. Moving was pretty much a regular thing both overseas and the US. I spent a year in Iceland, a year in South Korea, six months in the UK, four in Italy and five in Turkey. a logistics and transportation analyst. Exactly year after I retired I found myself in the wrong spot. My office was on the 8th corridor D ring of the Pentagon on 9/11. Twenty one years in the military without being near hostile areas and my first year as a civilian and end up with a front row (well maybe first tier and to the right) seat to the big event. Today I still do the same job in the same building but my office shifted over one corridor due to building renovations.
