Workplace Dr. Michael C. Williams-Scurlock has over two decades of experience in academic success services. In his last position as Director of Upward Bound for the University of Wisconsin Colleges, he directed a federally-funded pre-college program that served 60 high academic risk and/or economically disadvantaged students by assisting them in completing secondary school and preparing them for university enrollment and subsequent success. At Western Illinois University, he developed and directed a multi-site program that provided educational and outreach services to at-risk students around the state of Illinois. At Big Brothers Big Sisters, he worked with the Juvenile Mentoring Program, a federally funded initiative that provided mentoring, advocacy, and support services to court adjudicated non-violent youth offenders and their siblings.
