Michael's Story
Cultivating an open, curious, humble, and joyfilled beginner's mind. Enjoying how people view me as erratic and off-the-wall and don't know what to make of me, and then begin to realize that I am consistent and steady. I try to be a good person and accept people for who they are without making judgments. I make mistakes but do my best to learn from them. I am making a strong effort to understand myself better, so I can be a better friend to those I know, and do my best to think of Mother Earth as a place we need to protect. I know that 40,000 children in the world die each day and I question if I am doing what I can to end this. I understand that change comes from within and not from the outside. Those who became Buddha¿s put others before themselves, giving more importance to others needs. This is the secret to their success on the path to enlightenment. We however are mainly concerned with our own self-centered motivations and obsessed with all that happens to us personally. Our main preoccupation is securing our own welfare, usually at others expense. We expect that by taking care of ourselves we will be content but such is not the case, we still swing erratically between happiness and suffering.
