Michael is a Los Angeles native, where his stage credits include many incarnations as R.P. McMurphy in "ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST", Zach in "A CHORUS LINE", George in "OF MICE AND MEN", and over 200 performances in tour with AMERICAN REPERTORY THEATRE as John Adams in "1776". Work with the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera saw his Neville Landless in "THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD" with Barry Dennen and "THE KING AND I" with Dale Kristien for the Cabrillo Music Theatre. His portrayal as Denver Parmenter in the gripping docudrama "GOD'S COUNTRY" for the Ojai Theatre Guild, earned him a 2000 REP AWARD for best performance in a drama.
As a resident director with the Santa Paula Theatre Center and the SIMI CULTURAL ARTS CENTER for over ten years, some favorites include, "TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD", "PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE", "GEORGE WASHINGTON SLEPT HERE" and "ENIGMA VARIATIONS". featured him as Erie in Eugine O'Neil's darkly obscure play, "HUGHIE", produced and presented as companion to Mr. Sollazzo's original play, "THE GET".
Additionally, Michael's work as a broadcast producer and director for MONTEREY MEDIA's SOUNDWORKS division has created a library of over forty beloved classics produced as books on tape in radio drama format for listeners both young and old. The series has garnered several PARENT'S CHOICE AWARDS, two Independent Publishers Book Awards and is part of the educational curriculum of several schools and libraries nationwide. The unique, digitally mastered programs are new adaptations, fully cast, with original music and sound effects.
In Arizona, he was cast in the fluffy, Neil Simon comedy, "RUMORS" and as Treves in "THE ELEPHANT MAN", both for Prescott Fine Arts Theatre. He directed the musical "FOOTLOOSE" for the Prescott Academy of Drama and Dance and "OKLAHOMA" for the Starlight Community Theatre in Anthem.
