Michael's Story

Life After graduating from lake worth, i graduated from north tech for a machinist career, decided against working at pratt and whitney and bounced around various jobs before working at j&j campers where i learned enough to start STONEYS TRUCK ACCESSORIES in hobe sound, which my wife (debbie barnes from forrest hill)and i ran from twenty years. we sold out in 1999 and moved to murphy north carolina, where we semi retired and run three small business on 25 acres west of town....STONECREEK CABINS....CANDY MOUNTAIN MINI STORAGE...AND STONECREEK TRACTOR SERVICE. when im not doing chores around the property or tending our big garden, i enjoy flyfishing for trout,deer hunting and free lance writing for country magazines. i also would like to thank coach able and mr perry f...Expand for more
rom all the shop classes i took and the knowledge they passed on to me.....a college education elluded me...success didnt. my parents owned STONE'S HAMBURGER COTTAGE at 8th ave and dixie for 25 years and closed around 1964....my mom VICKY worked at the snackbar at lake worth pier for many years in the 60s and 70s...she died in 72....my father mike was the head chef at many local restraunts before passing away in 82....i fondly look back at lake worth as a wonderful place to live and grow up as a child....too bad for what it has become now.....i visit my parents grave at pinecrest on A street when im in florida and im blown away at how bad the neighborhood around the highschool has become......the old lake worth is gone forever......thanks for the memories......mjs
