Michael's Story
Life
Just a little about me. After graduation I spent the summer working for an office supply store in Bloomington. In December of 1970, I joined the Air Force and spent Christmas in basic training. In 1971 I went to Norton AFB in California. in 1972 I got married in January and we went to Wiesbaden AB, in Germany for a two year tour. In 1974 I returned to Indian Springs AFB, in Nevada. I got out in December of 1974 and returned to Minnesota. I started working for the Veterans Admininstration at Ft. Snelling in 1975. In 1980 I transfered to the Bureau of prisons in sandstone, MN. I left the prison in 1981 and ran a Flight school and charter outfit at Anoka Co. Airport until 1982 when I went to...Expand for more
Florida and flew prisoner transport. In 1985 I applied with The U.S. Customs Service and was hired to fly drug interdiction missions along the Southern borders. That has increased to Mexico, Central and South America. I was a GS-14 Supervisor and instructor pilot and retired in June of 2002 with 26 years of service. I have property in Minnesota that I have built a house on and enjoy while I'm home. I have two boys 31 & 28, no grandkids, same wife of 37+ years, good health and many friends.
I am currently flying charter flights out of Hinckley, MN with light piston aircraft and jets out of Nashville, TN. Thats what I've always been part of since 1968. Health and economy will dictate the rest.
