MICHAEL ALAN TAYLOR
SUMMARY
• International grassroots experience in Rural Community Development. Taught Environmental
Education, Ecologically Sustainable Agriculture, and English. Worked with Guatemalan
Government in pineapple and soil conservation, Central American School of Livestock in
Vermicomposting, National University at Distance and Environmental Education National
Coordinator and Assessor in thermophilic composting, CARE International in crop diversity,
and established a Ministry of Justice Technical Council prison garden.
• Broad hands-on experience establishing plant nurseries, gardens, thermophilic composting
and mulching programs with an at-risk youth facility, community women's groups, kindergar-
tens, elementary, junior, and senior high schools. Performed workshops to rural subsistence
farmers on cover crops, soil conservation, integrated agriculture, thermophilic composting,
mulching, crop diversification, crop site sanitation, agroforestry, pesticide safety, and intro-
duced organic pesticides.
